  SP1 Suction Pump and Accessories

The Waterra SP1 portable suction pump weighs only 7 kg and is powered by the Honda GX series of ultra-small 4-stroke engines. As well as being a general purpose water pump capable of delivering up to 100 litres per minute, the SP1 is also an ideal tool for purging and sampling boreholes at suction depths (up to 7-9m below ground level) in conjunction with inertial pumps.

The inertial pump is used to manually prime the suction pump. The suction pump can then be used to discharge purge water lifted by suction through the inertial pump tubing. Once purging is completed and to avoid cross-contamination, the suction pump is disconnected and samples taken by manual operation of the inertial pump.

Adaptors for use with either High Flow or Standard Inertial Pumps are available.

Standard Inertial Pump Tubing Connections

For connecting to Standard Inertial Pump tubing, use a STD tubing adaptor kit consisting of: - STX-1 PVC tubing - 2metre (connects the STD inertial tube to the SP1 pump) - SP/01 Nylon hose adaptor (to connect the STX tubing to the SP1 pump) - SP/06 Jubilee clips, 22 to 25mm (x2) - Instruction sheet Component parts are listed below as spares. A length of 25mm discharge hose is also required which is attached to the SP1 pump using metal 25mm discharge hose clips (SP/03). Hose clips are available as spares, though several are supplied with the SP1 pump.

High Flow Inertial Pump Tubing Connections

For connecting to High Flow Inertial Pump tubing, use either a black reinforced suction hose (SP1/HF-1) or High Flow suction / extension tubing (HFX-1). A length of 25mm discharge hose is also required which is attached to the SP1 pump using metal 25mm discharge hose clips (SP/03). Hose clips are available as spares, though several are supplied with the SP1 pump.
