The RSS Passive Skimmer is available in 3 diameters for removing floating hydrocarbon layers from 50 mm and larger diameter boreholes.

These simple to use manual skimmers remove floating petrol and diesel products from the water surface using a selective hydrophobic filter membrane which only allows the passage of oil product. The skimmer is designed to float when empty and will gradually sink as it fills. It is restrained from sinking deeper than necessary by a stainless steel support cable. Once full, the skimmer is retrieved and emptied at surface.

The skimmers can be cleaned and reused many times over and are ideal for removal of small volumes or thin layers of oil product from groundwater boreholes.
