  SPP2/RSS ACTIVE Skimmers

The SPP2-RSS ACTIVE Skimmer enables automatic and selective collection and removal of thin floating hydrocarbon layers from 50 mm and larger diameter boreholes without mixing with other fluids. Pumping is via a high quality, low maintenance SPP2 stainless steel fluid pump.

The pump and skimmer are suspended so the membrane is positioned adjacent to the oil-water interface. Hydrocarbons forming the floating product layer will soak through the membrane and then drain by gravity into the pumping chamber. For thicker product layers there is an ‘overspill’ inlet at the top of the membrane section which directly collects oil without it passing through the membrane.

The pump chamber will fill and empty in the same way as any SPP ACTIVE Pump. For detail see SPP2 ACTIVE page.

SAC-1 Pump Control Unit
The SAC-1 Pump Control Unit allows pumps to be indiviudally controlled at the well head. These units include an air filter with a semi-automatic condensate drain, an air pressure regulator with valve to control or isolate the air supply to the pump. Fluid discharges can be measured using a volume flow meter or isolated with a valve. Both the air regulator and volume flow meter are housed in a standard weatherproof housing. For further detail see SPP Pump Control Unit or download pdf.
