  Bailers - Reusable (Double-Valve Point Source Bailer)

The Solinst Point Source Bailer is a high quality stainless steel double valve bailer with Teflon ball valves and Viton o-rings. It can be used to profile a borehole by taking samples at distinct vertical intervals.

Samples are collected by gently lowering the bailer into the water column and allowing water to fill from the base upwards. As the bailer is lowered deeper through the water column, water moves freely through both the top and bottom non-return ball valves. When the sample is retrieved, both valves will close, trapping the water sample collected from the lowest submerged depth in the borehole.

The bailer is emptied at surface by opening the upper valve then draining the bailer slowly through a sample release device into a sample container.
