  In-Line Disposable Filters

Waterra in-line disposable filters are easy to use with bailers and most sampling pumps. They are primarily used for for field filtration of water samples being collected for inorganic and dissolved metals analysis.

The unique open pleat geometry and choice of 20 or 600 square cm surface area provide the maximum media exposure while ensuring that even with the most turbid samples, you will not lose filtration media to blinding.

High quality 0.45 micron filter media form the core of these filters, offering excellent particle retention above the target micron size range. The high void volume of the media also helps prolong media life.

Both cartidge and capsule filters offer the user greater flexibility over other products by providing tapered barbed connectors.

Metals Sampling
Most laboratory analytical methods for dissolved metals analysis in groundwaters require that the sample must be pre-filtered through a 0.45 micron pore size filter. This removes any suspended particulate matter that may contain or carry metals which could subsequently add to the metals load during acidisation of the sample to preserve metals in the water sample prior to analysis.

Filtration combined with acidisation of groundwater is best carried out at the time of sampling. This ensures that during the time it takes to deliver a sample to the laboratory any suspended solids collected with the sample do not dissolve and add to the natural dissolved metals concentration. Conversely, it also avoids loss by precipitation of some dissolved metals which can occur when groundwater is sampled from acidic environments.

Waterra in-line filters allow the filtration process to be carried out simply and quickly in the field so that samples can be immediately acidised and dissolved metals content reliably established.

Certification
Waterra FHT-45 Disposable Micron Filters independently analysed and certified for a wide range of metal. Go to FHT Filters Download Page for Technical Specifications.

FHT-45 In-Line Filters
Waterra FHT-45 certified in-line disposable filters are easy to use with bailers and most sampling pumps. The unique open pleat geometry and 600 square cm surface area provide the maximum media exposure while ensuring that even with the most turbid samples, you will not lose filtration media to blinding.

High quality polyethersulphone 0.45 micron filter media form the core of the filter. These offer excellent particle retention above the target micron size range. The high void volume of this media also helps prolong media life.

Theses filters offer the user greater flexibility over other products by providing a compound inlet. It has both a 3/8" (10mm) threaded adaptor and a 1/2" (12mm) hose barb allowing the filter to be attached easily to a variety of pumps and tubing sizes.

Certification
All Waterra FHT45 Inline Disposable Micron Filters are pre-rinsed with one litre of de-ionized water to ensure purity, and are independently certified to rinse clean for dissolved metals sampling. One in every 100 filters is pre-rinsed with 250ml of de-ionised water which is then independently analysed for a wide range of metals.

Certificates are supplied with every box of 100 filters and can be supplied on request for smaller order quantities.

Disk Capsule Filters
Waterra disk capsules have the same 0.45 um pore size as FHT Filters but with a smaller surface volume of 20 square centimetres and are designed to perform in-line groundwater filtration in the field in low suspended solid environments.

Disk capsules have a narrow pore distribution and high void volume which allow excellent liquid flow rates at low differential pressures.

Capsules incorporate a tapered 1/4" (6.4mm) to 1/2" (13.5mm) hose barb on each side of the filter to accommodate different sizes of sample tubing and low flow pumping systems.

• Ideal for field or laboratory use
• Eliminates filtering cross contamination
• Use with peristaltic pump, hand pump, or any low flow pump.
