Tag Line (Graduated SS Cable on a Reel)
The Solinst 103 "Tag Line" is a 1.6mm diameter stranded stainless steel cable marked at one metre intervals contained on a reel. The end of the cable is equiped with a clip which can be attached to a variety of devices for temporarily suspending in boreholes including Bailers and Passive Samplers. The supplied tape guide helps protect the cable from damage caused by rubbing against the edge of borehole casing during use. Using a tag line is quick and easy and because the tape is already marked at 1 metre intervals, cuts out the need to measure the length of cord before it is used. Each Tag Line is supplied with a 0.7kg weight for use as a plumb line. The weight has tapered ends to minimise snagging in the borehole and can be clipped on and off the cable. The cable itself has a minimal breaking strength of 122 kg.
