Waterra 3-Part Well Slugs and Accessories
|
Waterra 3-part well slugs are supplied in 3 parts to simplify storage and transport. They are manufactured from 3 solid cylinders of Delrin with threaded connections to allow 1, 2 or all 3 sections to be used. Two standard sizes are available for use in 50mm and 100mm diameter wells. Each size will achieve an approximate 1m change in water level within the borehole lining.
Use in conjunction with the Levelogger for accurate recording of water level changes during slug test.
Slug Test Method
Water is displaced in a borehole when a well slug is rapidly submerged (rising head test) or removed (falling head test) from the water column. For more detailed information on methodology and interpretation see BS5930 or BS6316.

Levelogger Gold (Level and Temperature)
|
The Levelogger Gold provides reliable water level (and temperature) readings with accuracies of 0.05% and can record water levels at intervals from 0.5 seconds upwards - ideal for slug tests. For test lasting for a few minutes or less, loggers can be used without the need to carry out barometric compensation. For more information see Levelogger pages. |

Well Slugs - Lifting Cord and Reel
|
A selection of kevlar or polyester cord and hand reeel for use with well slugs and loggers. Kevlar cord is inert, with low elasticity and is suited for use with loggers. The simple high impact hand reel avoids unsightly and dangerous trailing of cord on the ground during use. The reel can hold up to 100m of 3.5mm polyester or Kevlar cord. The spool is removable, and additional spools can be purchased. |

Plumb Line ("Tag Line")
|
The Solinst 103 Tag Line is a stainless steel cable on a reel marked at 1 m intervals. It is ideal for lowering slugs and / or loggers to their required depths in boreholes - saving time on site measuring out cord or cable. The Solinst 103 "Tag Line" is a plumb line using a 0.7 kg detatchable stainless steel weight and a 1.6mm diameter stranded stainless steel cable with a minimal break strength of 122kg. The cable is marked at one metre intervals with low profile bonded markings. Each Tag Line is supplied with a tape guide to protect damage to the cable against the edge of the well casing or headworks. Available in lengths of 600 metres and greater. Stock lengths are 30, 60 and 100m. |
