Waterra CPD Training Workshops
|
Since 1991 Waterra have provided professional training in the use of groundwater equipment to individuals and companies throughout the
UK and Ireland. Using this experience and our in-house hydrogeological and technical expertise we have developed a series of 1 day training courses and ½ day seminars to provide practical, up to date guidance for groundwater and surface water monitoring. Courses are fully endorsed by the Geological Society for CPD purposes.

|
Presentations are lead by Peter Dumble, Hydrogeologist and Technical Director of Waterra-In-Situ. Peter has over 30 years experience as a hydrogeological
consultant and is the principal technical author of the current Environment Agency and SEPA guidance for monitoring leachate, groundwater and surface waters
at landfill sites. Many of the principles from the Environment Agency guidance have since been incorporated into BS ISO 5667-11:2009 and BS ISO 10175:2011. Peter was the founder and lead presenter on a series of groundwater monitoring courses at the University of Cranfield from 1994 to 2008 and occasionally speaks and presents on the subject to conferences and MSc courses in the UK. He is currently an external mentor & sponsor for a NERC PHD studentship at Birmingham University on the "Interpretation of Water Quality from Long Screened Wells". Peter is assisted by a team of experienced colleagues and, on the one day course, invites external speakers with leading edge knowledge of the subject matter. |

Courses for 2012
Our courses are highly practical with emphasis on good field practice. We aim to bring you up to date with changes in guidance and include topical insights into R&D. We offer good advice and share our knowledge to help you get the best out of your equipment and time. Delegates will leave with a better appreciation of a range of equipment, how it works, how to use it and, just as importantly, when not to use it. We don't just talk about one method or offer one solution, and for this reason our CPD accreditation is highly valued (see below). Our ½ day courses are presented at various venues around the UK and Ireland, and can be delivered to staff in your own office environment on request. Delegates will leave having an enhanced understanding of the subject matter aided by practical demonstrations.
Our 1 day courses are based at Beckets Farm Conference Centre in Birmingham where we have the facilities, resources and time to deliver extended hands-on practical sessions. Delegates attending our 1 day courses will leave having seen and used modern sampling and logging equipment for themselves.

Who Should Attend?
Courses are designed for those who are looking to update and refresh their knowledge as well as for those new to modern monitoring methods. Previous delegates have included environmental professionals, hydrogeologists, field technicians, geotechnical and environmental consultants, local authority managers, specialist contractors, technical managers, researchers and regulators - all people who are responsible for planning or specifying groundwater or surface water monitoring programmes or involved with collecting water samples or water level monitoring data in the field.Comments from previous delegates...
"The theory of water movement in boreholes was very useful. The level of experience and knowledge of the presenters was excellent compared to other courses provided by consultants!"
"Brilliant day... clear, well explained and interesting...surprised as an experienced user at what I learnt"
"I had a really enjoyable day and found it incredibly useful, so thank you very much!"
"Great to have hands-on session with the equipment"
