A simple to use floating oil skimmer which collects and removes oil/product (LNAPL) layers. Pumping is via a high quality, low maintenance SPP2 or SPP3 stainless steel fluid pumps (NB: for skimming of oil films use SPP2.RSS skimmer). How it works The pump and skimmer are susupended in the borehole so that the float is positioneed at the LNAPL-water interface. The flaoting skimmer will rise and fall with the water in the borehole within a range of 40-45cm. Hydrocarbons forming the floating product layer drain into the inlet at the top of the floating skimmer and then by gravity into the pumping chamber. The pump chamber will fill and empty in the same way as any Active Pump (for details see seperate SPP2 & SPP3 data sheets, PR13 & PR14 available on our website).
