This is a simple to use and accurate oil skimmer which selectively collects and removes oil/product layers (LNAPL) without mixing with any other fluids. Pumping is via a high quality, low maintenance SPP2 stainless steel fluid pump.   How it works The pump and skimmer are suspended so that membrane is positioned adjacent to the oil-water interface. Hydocarbons forming the floating product layer will soak through the membrane and then drain by gravity into the pumping chamber. For thicker product layers there is an 'overspill' inlet at the top of the membrane section which directly collects oil without it passing through the membrane. The pump chamber will fill and empty in the same way as any Active Pump (for details see separate SPP2 data sheet, PR13).
