For simple and efficient recovery of LNAPL (floating product layers) from boreholes and tanks These simple to use manual skimmers remove floating petrol and diesel products from the water surface using a selective filter membrane which only allows the passage of oil product. The skimmer is designed to float when empty and will gradually sink as it fills. It is restrained from sinking deeper than neccessary by a stainless steel support cable. Once full, the skimmmer is retrieved and emptied at surface. These products can be cleaned and reused many times over and are ideal for removal of small volumes of oil product from groundwater boreholes. Skimmers usually fill very quickly (in a matter of minutes), though depending on the thickness and visocity of the oil, its state of degradation and ground/geological conditions the process can take longer (from hours to days).
