Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment

Waterra (UK) Limited are responsible for the collection and recycling of imported or own produced electrical products. Please read this page carefully and follow the instructions below before returning electrical products to us for recycling.

WEEE Registration
WEEE (Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment). Waterra are registered with the Environment Agency as a Producer for our own branded and imported Electrical Products (UK Registration Number WEE/EK0076US).

ERP Compliance
Waterra (UK) Limited is a member of the ERP UK Limited WEEE Producer Compliance Scheme (WEE/XP3338PD/SCH). For further information on ERP go to:

The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on our electrical products or literature indicates that the product should not be disposed with other business waste at the end of its working life. To help ensure that valuable resources are reused and recycled, and to prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, please separate these products from other types of waste.

Before Arranging a Collection of WEEE for Recycling
Before contacting Waterra to arrange a collection, please check the following details.

1. Is the product contaminated with hazardous materials?
  • If the product is contaminated, then you are responsible for safe disposal – seek advice from your own waste management advisor. Do not return to Waterra.
  • If you are not sure, then please check with your own waste management advisor before arranging for a collection.
Please note, before collection you will be asked to sign a Waste Transfer Note confirming this detail. A false declaration could lead to additional charges being levied directly to you by the Collection Company and prosecution by the Environment Agency.

2. Is the product a Waterra "Producer" product
  • Products sold since 13 August 2005: Waterra carry producer responsibility for the collection and recycling of the following brands of electrical products.
  • Products before 13 August 2005: Waterra will collect and recycle the above brands of electrical products where they are being replaced by an equivalent product purchased from Waterra. This service is offered on a one for one replacement basis.
We are not responsible for the collection and recycling of any other branded products (except as in 3. below).

3. Do you wish us to recycle an electrical product of another brand which is being replaced by the purchase of an equivalent Waterra product?

Waterra will arrange collection for recycling of equivalent products (i.e. similar in application) in exchange for a new electrical product purchased from Waterra, on a one for one basis in the following situation:

The product to be returned was purchased on or before 13 August 2005
  • Other brand products purchased on or before 13 August 2005 should be returned to the producer of the product. Do not return to Waterra.
  • If you are not sure, then please check with your own waste compliance advisor before arranging collection from Waterra.

We recommend that you have the instructions on this web page to hand to use when you are completing the form.

The completed and signed form should be returned to Waterra by FAX and, after validation against our records, details will be passed on to our Compliance Scheme, ERP UK Limited, who will take over the process on our behalf and contact you to arrange a collection.
