Bailers - Clearview PVC
Waterra ClearView disposable single valve PVC bailers are an inexpensive sampling option. They are available in a range of sizes enabling straight-forward collection and visual examination of water samples in different environments.
Use for
- routine sampling from boreholes
- collecting samples from thin LNAPL (floating product) layers
Unlike PE (Polyethylene) bailers, PVC bailers are denser than water and will sink readily without the addition of a weight.
Samples are collected by gently lowering the bailer into the water column and allowing water to fill from the base upwards through a non-return ball valve. As the sample is retrieved the ball will sink to the bottom of the bailer to close and trap the water. Sample release devices are provided to ease collection of samples without spillage.
In addition to standard 39mm OD bailers, smaller diameter options allow sampling from narrow tubes (below).
