Bailers - Double-Valve
|
Use for
- depth specific sampling in boreholes (top weight recommended)
- routine sampling from boreholes
Samples are collected by gently lowering the bailer into the water column and allowing water to fill from the base upwards. As the bailer is lowered deeper through the water column, water moves freely through both the top and bottom non-return ball valves. When the sample is retrieved, both valves will close, trapping the water sample collected from the lowest submerged depth in the borehole. Sample release devices are provided to ease collection of samples without spillage.
When using disposable double valve bailers for depth sampling we recommend the use of either a 150g or 250g ring weight.
See Sampling Accessory page for cord, reels and other field essentials.
