EnviroCap locking well caps
Protect your monitoring boreholes from surface contamination and tampering

PR31

EnviroCap low profile locking well caps are attached to the top of the well casing and serve the dual functions or preventing surface water from entering the well through the top of the casing and restricting access by unauthorized persons

EnviroCap locking well caps are available in
two sizes and are easily locked and unlocked
with a unique magnetic locking tool.

EnviroCap low profile locking well caps are attached to the top of well casing and serve the dual functions of preventing surface water from entering the well through the top of the casing and restricting access by unauthorized persons.

EnviroCaps feature an exclusive built in locking system that is completely sealed from the outside environment to eliminate replacement cost of failed locks due to rust, corrosion, and debris. Unlike conventional caps, EnviroCap does not come loose in the casing.

Features
Maximum Seal-to-Casing contact
Our 32mm(1 1/4 Inch) wide seal prevents leakage and adds friction for intruder resistance. The wider contact surface spreads the outward force over more pipe area, reducing the "belling out" effect that makes conventional caps come loose.

Slide On Retaining Sleeve
The sleeve prevents casing deformation caused by the outward force of the expanded donut on the casing. EnviroCaps cannot be pulled out of the casing.

Extra Leak Protection
The top cap overlaps the casing to create an extra air seal, much like an upside down cup in water.

Sealed Lock
Save Money!! Our built in lock never needs replacing and can be opened using a single universal EnviroKey.

Utility Ring
Hang tools or samplers from the bottom of the cap

Low Profile
Conserve space in well covers with only 6mm(1/4 Inch) projection above the well casing.

Optional Venting
Caps can be vented by the addition of a 2mm vent hole* to prevent pressurisation of the borehole during use, with dataloggers or other similar devices. Please request venting at time of order.

*Please be aware this does provide a small potential inlet for water if the borehole cap becomes flooded and vented caps should not be relied on for permanently sealing a borehole.

Operation

The cap consists of two rigid disks separated by a flexible, squeezable donut of hydrocarbon resistant material. A special bolt threads through the centre of the assembly so as to compress the outer disks against the flexible donut when tightened.

To use
  • The lower portion of the cap is inserted into the well casing and is tightened using the EnviroKey
  • The two disks compress the flexible donut, causing it to expand outward at its circumference, pressing tightly against the inside of the well casing
  • If an authorized user attempts to remove the cap without an EnviroKey, the bolt head will turn without engaging the threads and the cap cannot be removed
